The free entrepreneurial spirit is well and alive in Austin, TX. And with the magnetic energy of innovation in the Lone Star air, the SXSW industry conference, trade shows, exhibitions and talent showcases are literally lighting the city on fire. More and more techies, entrepreneurs and visionaries are swarming into Austin day by day in order to soak up the ingenuity and creativity in the atmosphere; and let’s not forget, build their relationship capital.SXSW-Interactive-Conference1

The interactive portion of the festival just came to an end on March 14th. I have to say, although I am excited about SXSW music, which is well underway; I do miss some of the tech houses I frequented earlier this week. Out of all of the tech houses that I have visited thus far, I would be remiss if I did not highlight the WeDC house.

WeDC was hands down the best experience I have had while here in Austin for SXSW 2016. The lineup was calculated by the Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) and dedicated to introducing the local side of a Federal city. From the announcement of Groundwork, a 10 million dollar venture fund led by Jason Towns; to the latest technology in the Drone Space presented by Drone Airspace Management; to dope fashion innovators like Talib founder of Life On Autopilot and of course slamming tunes provided by musical acts such as Quest Love and Wale; The WeDC House was the place you wanted to be.

The WeDC brand is a national technology hub, whose primary goal is to expand DC’s tech sector, promote innovative startups, highlight creative talent and foster partnerships between the local and national DC market and around the globe. There were countless trailblazers floating around the WeDC house and their brilliance was definitely matched with leading brands that came to probe the talent such as Google,Samsung and many more.
