Spelman College has made it known that they will be putting a team together to talk about whether or not the school will allow TRANSGENDER women to enroll.

President Mary Schmidt Campbell somewhat made this known in the welcome back letter given out upon admission. It is said that Ingrid Hayes, VP of Enrollment, will put together a task force to discuss the recommendation for TRANSGENDER admissions. This is something that is quite the conversation in the HBCU community and has most definitely made a big impact on society.

I truly feel it is a big step for the school to have this up for consideration, especially because it is an all female school and the protection of the students is always the focus at hand. I truly hope this is a step that can be taken towards equality and peaceful operation so everyone can have access to the same level of education no matter what.
