It’s hard to believe that 364 days has come and gone and we are approaching a new year yet again. Yes, that is correct, 2016 will be coming in hot in less than 24 hours.
With a new year, comes those good ol’ New Year’s Resolutions that we are super charged and inspired to sign up for but often times fail to carry out. According to a 2002 study, roughly 75% of people who make New Year’s Resolutions stick to their goals for at least a week. Less than half, about 46%, are still on target six months later.
This brought me to a revelation… As opposed to making New Year’s Resolutions like every other year, may I suggest that we all make New You Resolutions? Breaking bad habits in order to maximize and optimize our life, often times does not require a one time fix. It actually requires a paradigm shift and lifestyle change, a new way of seeing yourself and a fire within to commit to living a life that serves and honors you.
Whether you need more financial discipline, less stress, or better health- if you look at the beginning of the year to work on being a better you for a lifetime as opposed to just a season, you may find it easier to create a new mindset, set realistic goals and produce the actions necessary to see authentic and longlasting results.
“The Secret” is not much of a secret anymore; whatever you think and visialize has power and will materialize. So perhaps, our mind which produces 70,000 thoughts a day, 3,000 per hour and 50 per minute, is the first stop on our way to becoming more empowered versions of ourselves.
