Just last month rapper, Killer Mike stood behind a podium inside Atlanta’s Fox Theater, in front of a crowd of more than 5,000 people. He smiled and adjusted his mic, turned and waved to the audience behind him, and then he got serious and professed his support for Presidential candidate, Senator Bernie Sanders.

“I have said in many a rap, I don’t trust the church or the government, a Democrat, Republican, a pope, a bishop or those other men,” the rapper said. “But after spending five hours tonight, after spending five hours with someone who has spent the last 50 years radically fighting for your rights and mine, I can tell you that am very proud tonight to announce the next president of the United States, Sen. Bernie Sanders.”

The two best of buddies sat down in the Swag Shop, Killer Mike’s Atlanta barbershop, back in November and discussed everything from economic freedom to social justice and health care reform.  Mike and Sanders had a 6 part interview digging deep into the issues facing the nation.
