Perhaps you thought we forgot about the fashion extravaganza that took place at the BET Awards 2016 on June 29th. Well, of course we did not.

This year at the BET Awards we saw an array of styles and glamour. And what I admired most was the fact that many celebs and influencers selected to be comfortable, authentic and cool in the skin that they are in, which is the number one rule in swag and style. Whether it was Alicia Keys in an all black jumpsuit (WITH NO MAKEUP) and her hubby Swiss Beats tuxedo down with matching fresh kicks or Jidenna with all of his culture and colorful swag; or of course, the multidimensional songstress Janelle Monae in her poker face black and white sequins suit, the carpet was screaming ALL N-A-T-U-R-A-L flavor and spice.

Danielle Monet Truitt in violet & Meagan Good in tempting forest green get the classy, chic and incomparable award. And the “who says my dress is too short” award goes to none other than Jasmine Sanders and Eva Marcille.

My absolute favorite was actually Maxwell’s date, Julissa Bermudez in her POW POW inspired dress with animal print. One could definitely catch Miss Cristen Mills in a dress such as this for sure.

And you have to give it to Beyonce’s dancers too, who got in formation with grace, style and pizazz. Their wardobe ensemble had the most character without a doubt as there is power in numbers.

All in all, the red carpet at the BET Awards reflected a beautiful range of style and confidence and it was lovely to be a part of the entire weekend.
