It is a new day for industry vet ANGELA BASSETT as she has taken the reigns in the beauty market in a BEAUTIFUL way. ANGELA BASSET released a statement a few days a go stating she was launching a new make up line, and not just any line but a line for darker toned women.

The actress has teamed up with Dr. Barbara Sturm, her friend and a well-known skincare expert, to launch a skin-care line that addresses the direct needs of women with darker complexions. BASSETT struggled with skin issues herself, she told WWD. Initially, she used Sturm’s original line to treat her breakouts and irritations, but she realized it did not address skin issues that darker skinned women deal with such as hyperpigmentation. That’s when they decided to create the line and after two years of research, “Darker Skin Tones by Dr. Barbara Sturm” came into fruition.

The five item line aims to reduce inflammations, even tones and minimize pores and hyperpigmentation. Strum says that the main ingredient in their line, purslane, works as an anti-aging agent and helps to even out the tone. As a black women, we all react to make-ups differently and that is why the research is so important! BASSETT has taken the time to learn the industry and provide something that is needed for black women all across AMERICA! The icing on the cake for me was just seeing how great BASSETT looks 20 years later. She has been an icon in the film industry for many years and has truly kept the statement alive that BLACK DON’T CRACK!
