MOSCOT boutique, most known for their iconic eyewear in the New York City flagship location, opened a new MOSCOT Shop in the heart of Tokyo’s upper crust fashionable center, the Aoyama neighborhood. In partnership with Optec Japan Group, the Company’s Japanese distribution partner since 2012, MOSCOT Tokyo opened doors in March of 2015.
The 33 square meter MOSCOT Tokyo Shop was designed by renowned interior design company, Landscape Products, and based on original designs by MOSCOT in-house architect, Lloyd Fruchtman AIA. The Tokyo store reflects MOSCOT’s signature aesthetic: classic design mixed with downtown New York City culture. MOSCOT Tokyo offers the full breadth of MOSCOT styles from all three of its Collections — The MOSCOT Originals, MOSCOT Spirit and MOSCOT Sun — as well as the quirky trinkets and treasures, historical photos and other vintage décor elements the brand’s New York City Shop’s are known for.
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with Optec Japan Group to open a MOSCOT Shop in Japan,” said Harvey Moscot, Owner of MOSCOT. “Optec Japan Group has been a dedicated and loyal distribution partner. They understand our brand, and as a family business, share our values and dedication. We couldn’t have chosen a better partner for this new, exciting endeavor that will bring the authentic MOSCOT experience to fans in Tokyo.”
MOSCOT Tokyo is the company’s second international location next to MOSCOT Seoul,, and its fifth location worldwide. The company’s original three Shops, all located in New York City, include: MOSCOT Court Street, nestled in Brooklyn’s historic Cobble Hill neighborhood; MOSCOT 14th Street and MOSCOT Orchard Street, where it all began nearly 100 years ago. The five-generation family business celebrates its 100 Year anniversary this year.
